How
long does it take to ship my vehicle? |
| |
An
auto mover can pick up and deliver 8 to 10 vehicles at
all times, and due to weather & road conditions, and
other unforeseen factors make it impossible to guarantee
the delivery date. Allow 14 to 21 days, from
the time you place your order, for the carriers to complete
the trip on West-East runs, but can be quicker on other
routes. In extreme cases, due to break downs or
acts of nature, time frames may be delayed out of our
control. You will be updated if any delays should
occur. |

Two weeks in advance is recommended. We will also deal
with urgent situations on an individual basis, and will
be given priority status. Please call us at: 281.828.7200

Can
I pack my belongings in my car? |
| |
As
of 1998 the Department of Transportation ruled that you
may NOT load any items in a vehicle on auto carriers.
All auto movers are subject occasionally to be inspected
which includes unloading the vehicles off the truck and
items in the vehicle. This could risk leaving the items
behind. Auto carriers are NOT licensed to carry household
goods or personal items, and are not covered by carrier's
insurance. Any damage to your vehicle due to household
goods shifting or braking is also not covered. Personal
belongings left in the vehicle are shipped strictly at
the owner's own risk. Carriers will not inventory any
belongings left in the vehicle and will assume no responsibility.
Also, items packed in the vehicle add weight and may cause
damage to the exhaust system and or suspension of the
vehicle. |

Is
my vehicle insured during transit? |
| |
Your
vehicle is insured for its Blue Book value during transit
on the vehicle shipper. Total loss or minor external body
damage does not include glass cracking or chips or
motor/undercarriages. Classic vehicles should have an
updated appraisal for insurance purposes. In the
event of an act of God, it not customary for the carrier's
insurance to cover hail damage related situations.
For this reason, enclosed carriers are available. |

Will
you ship my car if it's in-operable?
|
| |
Only
if we are notified at the time the order is placed, will
we transport your vehicle if it is in in-operable
condition (Not Wrecked). In-operable rates
are higher than vehicles that drive. Vehicle tires
must be inflated, able to roll, steer, and the car must
have emergency brakes. If one
of our carriers shows up to pick up a vehicle that is
in-operable and that has not been scheduled as an in-op,
your $200.00 deposit will be forfeited.

What if I am unavailable to
pick up the car?
|
| |
You may have an alternative party, like a
friend or relative, sign on your behalf. If you are not available for the pick
up of your vehicle, it may have to go to a terminal for you to pick up, which
may incur storage fees if we are unable to reach you and make special
arrangements.

 |
What if my location is
inaccessible
to the truck?
|
| |
Most vehicle
movers are 75 feet long and very wide which makes it impossible
to reach most residential areas due to narrow roads, trees,
power lines, city ordinances, and other road factors.
The driver will attempt to get as close as possible to
the delivery location, or we will arrange a convenient
location like shopping center or major street crossing
to pick up or deliver your vehicle. |

Auto Shippers carrier
insurance? |
|
As a licensed
and bonded broker, we carefully choose our carriers
to meet the highest of standards in our industry. In
the event that a claim must be made, the claim must
be made against the carrier that is transporting your
car. The carriers we have chosen have provided to us
documentation stating that they meet all DOT guidelines
and are fully insured for the value of your vehicle.
We will help guide you in the event that you must make
a claim against one of our carriers.
Upon pick-up, the driver of the vehicle mover will complete
a condition report (bill of lading) indicating any scratches
or damages on the vehicle which will then be signed
by both parties. This routine will then be performed
again upon delivery, be sure you inspect your vehicle
before signing. Be sure you inspect your vehicle for
any damages at the delivery point.
Any claims made after the truck has left will not be
accepted under any conditions.
